The expected marriage of Waze and Spotify is a wonderful thing, and hopefully just the first of many beddings for Waze.

For the majority that spend ample time behind the wheel, there are no more important apps than a navigation app and a music app. Waze has been my go to nav app for years. It hardly uses any data, alerts you of the popo, speed and red light cams, also while getting you over and around traffic with all of its magical powers. The fact that it will soon be able to combine your tunes into it’s already seamless and user friendly interface is just icing on the cake. The only thing that could possibly be more perfect would be the union of Waze and Apple Music. But until then, we have this, and this is better than nothing!

“It will also create a better experience on the screen: Users who are in the Spotify app will now get a short version of the next navigation instruction, while Waze users will get a short description of what they’re listening to, with the option to skip or change the music without needing to open the Spotify app. For Waze, it’s notable that it selected Spotify first for this kind of integration.”
