The Mets simply can’t catch a break, despite the winning streak and hot start.
After getting plunked on the hand in the 7th inning, Travis d’Arnaud was immediately removed after clearly grimacing while the trainer and Collins checked him out at first base.
Just an inning later, the report came in that d’Arnaud has a fractured hand. This is a really tough break for Travis who has gotten off to such a fast start and has been a big part of what has been going on with the Mets. He just can’t seem to avoid the injury bug so far in his young career.
The Mets need to bring up Kevin Plawecki and see what the kid has. Worst case, he gets a taste of the show. Best case, he shows he belongs and forces the Mets to make a tough decision when d’Arnaud heals and is ready to return.
