This is why the Mets can’t have nice things.
Blevins came over from the Nationals in a deal at the end of Spring Training and was perfect so far this season, retiring every batter he faced.
During today’s game he took a comebacker off of his left arm, which sounded and looked bad, and turned out to be so. He couldn’t even throw the ball to first after cleanly fielding it after the deflection and instead flipped it from the glove to first for the out.
He was immediately removed from the game and taken for X-Rays which revealed a fractured left forearm. Obviously no timetable has been determined yet but here’s hoping for a speedy and full recovery.
